Hannah and I had one of those strange days that you either let bum you out OR you just roll with the punches and insist that you just have fun anyways. We chose the latter! We had this lovely drive out to our location...bonding over really funny experiences that we both had growing up (we seem to have quite a lot in common) and taking in the beauty of middle of nowhere California. So after an hour and a half of driving, Hannah and I gather up all of our stuff and head to our first location spot, and then it happened. That moment that I have experienced on many occasions, but one that I really hadn't anticipated in the middle of nowhere...the park police. Park police that like to enforce the use of photo permits (that cost a lot of money mind you), park permits that we don't have. They wouldn't let us shoot because we had "costumes" and tripods. After trying to debate that we in fact did not have costumes (because in truth, we both wear what most people consider as "costumes", on a daily basis), we decided that it was too risky to get a fine by trying to evade this guy and the cop behind him, and we left. :/ Sooooo....we drove around for a while, hoping to find more epic rocks like the ones we had just left behind with the park police...but we stumbled upon no such rocks. We pulled over on the side of the road to take just a couple minutes worth of photos with my prism I got at Michaels and then we decided to head home with plans to re-schedule the shoot for Wednesday this week at a different location. Haaaa! So, we ended up just having a good day getting to know each other better...not so bad, huh! We are SUPER excited to shoot the photos we have planned and we both have fun props that we made, and along with the props, we've got the headpieces I made, and some beautiful vintage clothing from her shop The Loved One.
So, I leave ya with these couple of photos we took on the side of the road...just so we didn't come back with not even one photo souvenir!
xo,
